5 CREATIVE WAYS TO ENTERTAIN YOURSELF DURING A LONG FLIGHT
Just the other day I got stuck on my plane for a six hour delay. Although I didn’t end up taking off until 3am, I couldn’t seem to fall asleep either. With no one awake to text, I was left bored, quickly running out of ideas on what to do with my extra hours.
That's when I decided to get creative. Come up with some fun things I could do on my flight (well, as fun as possible considering the circumstances).
Create your ideal concert.
The baby behind me was wailing like I used to before going to the dentist, so I threw in my headphones and blasted music. I then reached for my journal and drew a little picture of what kind of concert I would have depending on the song playing, getting pretty creative. Think: a popup rock concert at a local 24/7 diner in the middle of the night.
Notice and write.
I love to people watch, and airports are my favorite places to do so. Try observing all of the little details about people around you and making up stories for them. Why do you think the older woman with white hair, hot pink lipstick and a sky blue wind breaker is going to your destination?
Make a movie.
Either use clips from your camera roll or take some with your travel buddy to make a short film that captures some great memories.
Learn something new.
For whatever reason, I happened to have an old “Italian for Dummies” book on me and brushed up on some vocab. La donna mange la mela, am I right?!
You got games on your phone?
My go to is Sudoku, but I'm also a sucker for Solitaire and Plants vs. Zombies.
There you have it. Some out of the box ways that I manage to keep myself entertained while constantly hopping from flight to flight. Enjoy your adventure!
